DnaBean

Why is it called a DnaBean?

INSPIRED BY THE FATHER OF MODERN GENETICS

The science of genetics had very humble beginnings. In the late 1800s biologist Gregor Mendel was investigating the hereditary traits of pea and bean plants, experimenting with cross-breeding in order to understand how and why certain characteristics were passed on from parent plants to their offspring. He published his findings in 1866, but it wasn’t until much later that the true significance of his discoveries was truly appreciated. Now regarded as the father of modern genetics, we named our innovative DnaBean device in tribute to Mendel’s ground-breaking research.
